Introduction

The advent of generative AI is revolutionizing various facets of our lives—from how we search for information to the creation of media content. While much attention has been given to how employers utilize AI for processes like CV screening, less is known about how job seekers, particularly young people, are engaging with these technologies. The AI Perspectives project aims to fill this gap by exploring how London's youth perceive and use generative AI in their career and educational pursuits.

Project Overview

Objectives

  • Investigate Youth Perceptions: Understand how individuals aged 16-24 in London view the role of AI in employment and further education.
  • Analyze AI Usage: Examine how young people are currently leveraging generative AI in their job search and career development.
  • Identify Learning Needs: Determine the AI-related knowledge and skills that youth are eager to acquire.

Key Questions

  1. How do young people think about the use of AI in employment or further education?
  2. How are they currently using AI in their job search?
